Estella Bolles

(1859-1892)

Estella Bolles was born in September 1859 in Bluffton, Iowa, to George Bolles and Mary Angeline (Powers) Bolles.

On May 26, 1879, she married George Rollin Baker in Ridgeway, Iowa, establishing her home in the same region where she had been raised.

Estella and George Baker had five children:

• Clair A. Baker (1882–1967)
• John C. Baker (1884–1967)
• Helen Baker (1887–1980)
• Ruth Baker (1891–1981)

Later Years and Passing

Estella’s life was cut short during a time when illness often claimed lives early. She passed away on April 30, 1892, in Ridgeway, Iowa, from typhoid fever, at approximately 32 years of age.

Legacy

Though her years were few, Estella’s legacy endured through her children, whose lives stretched well into the twentieth century—carrying forward the family line into a new and changing era.
