Daniel Mason Parker

Daniel Mason Parker was born on October 29, 1856, in Fayette, Iowa, to Dr. Charles Coleman Parker and Sarah Maria Lakin His father was 33 years old at the time of his birth, and his mother was 27.
He married Sarah Emeline Sherman McDonald on June 21, 1887, in New Hampton, Iowa.
Education and Ministry
Daniel graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1879 and received a Master’s degree in 1882. He devoted his life to both faith and education, serving as a Methodist minister and as a professor of Philosophy and Biblical Literature at Upper Iowa University.
He held this professorship during two periods, from 1908 to 1915 and again from 1928 to 1933, contributing to the intellectual and spiritual life of the institution.
